Belongil Beach is one of the jewels in the Byron Bay crown. Belongil has been the "out of town" haven for Byron beach goers for decades. It is only 2 kilometres from the centre of town, but a world away for those wishing to get out of the sometimes noisy bustle of the tourist hub in Byron Bay. We have great Byron Bay waterfront accommodation at our belongil River House in Giaour Street.
Belongil Beach is home to the famous surfing spot "The Wreck". The Wreck is actually the remains of the seagoing vessel the Wollongbar that was sunk during a cyclone in 1922. You can see The Wreck from the Main Beach car park near the front fence of the pool, or by walking up Belongil Beach.
Belongil Beach is beautiful to say the least, a long lazy stretch of white sand and waves that goes all the way to Brunswick Heads to the north. It has some secluded spots and it is popular with people who like to go for a very long beach walk. Belongil River House is about 140 metres from Belongil Beach and o0ne of the great things about where we are is that if you want to, you can get on the beach and walk to town. You probably know Byron roads get very busy during high season and you can avoid that, get a bit of exercise if you want and walk to the Top Pub for lunch or dinner.
So, come and stay with us at our Byron Bay holiday beach house at beautiful Belongil.
